Weekend Fun {Nienhuis}

Guess what? It is HOT! I bet you haven't heard that in a while...
We are doing anything we can to beat this sweltering summer heat.

A few years ago, the City of Broken Arrow built a very cool Community Center called Nienhuis {Neen-hys}, right by our house. We didn't have Dylan at the time, but we went on several trips to walk Chloe around the big park. There are so many neat things to see, they have a skate park, two sports fields, a center for art and recreation, a children's park, and an awesome aquatic facility.
 The giant water slides, aquatic playground, and cute fountains have been beckoning to us as we pass by on these 100 degree days. So, Friday we loaded up and had our first trip to the park!
When we went scuba diving in Cozumel a few years ago, we bought a very cool water tight case for our camera. It was so fun to hop in the pool and snap away!

The wading pool was perfect for Dylan - just the right depth, and full of neat toys. There was a big rubber boat in the middle and he went nuts over it! He giggled non-stop as Ryan let him slide down the back over and over again.

 He really enjoyed standing under the raining mushroom, giggling as he and Ryan got soaking wet!

After a bit, Dylan had clearly had enough and was ready for the big boy pool!

We put him in his super cool baby float {thank you Bright family} and made our way to the deep end. He loved splashing in the cool water, and watching all the kids play.

With the Aquatic Park boasting tons of amenities
{2 large water slides, 2 deep water drop slides, wading pool, aqua playground,  & a splash pad},
we were not short on things to do. At $5.00 a person and babies free, we are elated to have found a new place to play.
Can't wait to go back!
