Friday Favorite {Spring Adventures}

 Spring has arrived.
The weather is perfect - warm, sunny days with a cool breeze. The air smells fresh and clean, and little bits of the new season are popping up in tiny buds, bringing the earth back to life!

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.
{A Prayer in Spring - Robert Frost}

I have always had a love for photography. I love capturing the perfect moment as a keepsake of our past and memories. Since Dylan was born, my hands have been full of baby and empty of my camera. Over the Christmas holiday, Ryan started falling in love with Photography. Sarah came to town from California with her fancy new SLR and Ryan was hooked. Three cameras and six lenses later, he has found his match. His new hobby has peeled us from our home and taken us on all kinds of adventures! He is learning more and more each day, and I am so impressed with his work.

I was always the one begging to go somewhere new, but now he is on the search for new scenery!
This afternoon we packed up and went for a small hiking trip to the
It is owned by Oxley Nature Center! It is a lush, rugged trail, full of beautiful native flora and fauna. They invite you to visit and suggest partaking in the following: Hike, daydream, bird watch, visit with a naturalist, sketch, photograph butterflies, relax, study the wildflowers, forget things, look for fossils, remember things, sit, stare, listen... do all these things and more. There are a multitude of possibilities - invent some of your own.

Sweet, tiny butterfly shaped flowers

Stopped to rest on a sweet little bench
Saying hi to Daddy!
Peering into the ravine at the fallen bridge

Peeks of purple from the blooming Redbuds
Feeding the little critter in the peace and quiet

It was an amazing and peaceful getaway, and I can't wait to go back again
when the whole forest is wrapped in its summer greens!

Looking forward to our next adventure...

Any ideas?

{P.S. I recently fell head over heels in love with The Pioneer Woman. (She is an Okie!) She has an AMAZING blog and features an incredibly helpful photography section. Go check it out!}

How fun! I remember having to go there for school field trips! I have to say, you seem more interested in baby Dylan than in the nature, so sweet :) and Pioneer Woman is THE best! I just finished her book it was so good! And every recipe of hers I've tried has been amazing!
