Week 31 - Happy Easter!

Today was Easter and it was wonderful! Ryan has been reading at church all throughout Holy Week. He read the part of Jesus on Palm Sunday and the compliments are still flowing in from the congregation. He read at the Good Friday service and with our families by our side today he read the Prayers of the People over a Baptism for the Easter service. Father Mckee has come up to him twice and shook his hand in thanks. I can't express how proud of him I am!

The service today was immaculate! Easter lilies and baby's breath filled the church with the feeling of rebirth and spring time. The smell of incense flowing through the pews reminded me of our wedding. The choir - as always - left me choking back the tears on at least three occasions. Casey, the choir director and organist, pulled out all the stops (haha get it?) and ended with horns blazing accompanied with three men on the french horn, trombone, & trumpet. It was amazing!

My Mom and Grandma and Ryan's Mom all joined us at our house for a delicious Easter brunch of ham, honey potatoes, pineapple, cantaloupe, and a slew of candy goodies :) It was so nice to sit and relax and catch up. Easter has always been one of my very favorite days of the year and this one was no different. Happy Easter!!
