Dylan turned three years old a few weeks ago! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We had a crazy fun time celebrating our sweet boy. His wonderful teacher, Carman, from the Parent's as Teacher program runs a party petting zoo called JC's Traveling Barnyard. She and her husband have a miniature farm, and they bring all the animals and adorable crafts for the kids to do. We cowboy'd up the place and made some wonderful memories with our little guy.</div>

Mommy's Day out to be specific, but the church called it Day School. We researched different churches, and after hearing several great things from friends and acquaintances about First Baptist BA, we decided it was the one. <br />
<br />
We excitedly got him prepared in the weeks preceding. Ryan, Dylan, and I visited the school and met the teachers at the Open House. We were thrilled with the facilities, and very happy with the two teachers assigned for Dylan's room. The halls were decorated with awesome animal murals, and each room was dedicated to a creature. D was in the elephant room! We let him choose his own backpack, and how perfect - he chose the elephant. <br />
<br />
His first day of school was an anxious rush, and I was nervous of how he would react. My Mom (Nana) joined us, and Ryan took the morning off to see him off on his first day. We all walked him to his class, pack, lunch, and nap mat in tow. I took him in and helped him to the potty. While we were in there, all we heard was a class full of crying kids. He asked me about them, his eyes starting to well up with his own tears. As we said our goodbyes, the bawling began. I swallowed a lump and kissed him goodbye. We listened to him crying "mama, dada" all the way out of the building.<br />
<br />
The weeks following were no easier. Every day on the ride to school, he would plead "no, no." When I picked him up, it was the same each time. He was sitting in the teacher's lap, looking so sullen and miserable. He would see me and burst into tears as he ran to my arms. He would drag me to his stuff, then pull me down the hallway to leave. He hated it! The teacher said he was very kind to the other kids, and was great at following directions. She mentioned that he was glued to her side every moment, and did indeed seem sad.<br />
<br />
I expected him to be slow to warm up. We've spent nearly every day of his life together! But it seemed to be more than that. Family that he was normally eager to see noticed that he was anxious and scared to leave Ryan and I. His personality was changing and he was sad every day of the week. Sunday's made my stomach churn, knowing I would have to see him so sad the next morning.<br />
<br />
We talked about the pros and cons of school. Was it necessary? Would he be missing out by waiting another year? Ultimately, we knew it wasn't worth him being miserable. That is much of the beauty of being a stay at home Mom: school was merely a choice. I've gotten "the look" and a few remarks about us taking him out too soon, and we didn't let him adjust. But we know our decision was the right one.<br />
<br />
Dylan's OPAT (Mommy & Me) school teacher hugged me with tears in her eyes and told me she was so proud of me for following my intuition. She said "you will never ever go wrong by choosing to listen to your child's needs versus the pressures of society." I knew that in my heart, and it was so reassuring to hear it.<br />
<br />
His anxiety is slowly subsiding, and my happy kid is starting to come back around. We might try school again next year when he understands a little more. But for now we will fill our autumn days with new adventures at the library, Mommy & Me classes, our homeschool curriculum, family outings and the park, and that is just fine by us!smithpeasinapodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13092276009747582116noreply@blogger.com31tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753952554100911413.post-85133772432572547382012-09-24T08:29:00.001-07:002012-09-24T10:41:13.624-07:00Poked & ProddedI am sitting in the Regional Medical Lab waiting room this morning. I will be here for three hours, and I am not allowed to leave the room. Other than a long movie, this is the longest I have sat quiet and still in years! <br />
<br />
Before I made the switch to my lovely midwife, my previous Doctor's office ran the usual battery of blood and pee tests that are taken at the beginning of pregnancy. I got a call letting me know my urine tests came back with a high number of sugar. They recommended I take the three hour glucose test, but I opted to wait.<br />
<br />
My kind Father-in-Law is a diabetic, and he gave Ryan and I a finger prick monitor and test strips. Reluctantly I started testing every few days. My numbers were perfect! Still, my midwife wanted me to go to the lab to be sure. She didn't think the three hour test was necessary just yet. Ryan, Dylan and I headed to the lab and I drank the (so far from) yummy lemon lime 50 gram glucose drink. We ran errands for an hour then my blood was drawn an hour later. Days later I got the phone call letting me know I failed. Harrumph!<br />
<br />
The nurse told me a three hour test was in order after all. She said I would fast the same, I would just have to stay longer. Wrong! Sherry came to watch Dylan one afternoon, and I headed to the lab with my yarn and crochet needles in hand, starving after a three hour fast. The lab surprisingly let me know that a 10 hour fast as well as a morning test was necessary. So here I am again. I had a delicious bowl of strawberries before bed as my last pre-fast meal. Dylan gave me a huge hug and kiss goodbye, happy that Daddy was home to play for the morning - what a treat!<br />
<br />
I had my fasting blood drawn, then downed the 10 oz, 100 gram orange nastiness. One hour has passed, and I've had my first hour blood drawn. Two more to go! I am shaky and lightheaded, but holding it down. My fingers are so very crossed that I do not have Gestational Diabetes. But I will stay positive if I am! My cousin had GD during her pregnancy, and she said it was such a blessing in disguise. It's a swift kick in the pants, urging you to eat healthier and exercise more. Aside from the constant finger pricks, that doesn't sound half bad. <br />
Looking forward to finding out my results!<br />
<br />
Cheers!<br />

It is still so surreal that once again, I am growing a human life, creating another little person to fill our seemingly full hearts with even more love. Ryan and I have grown so much as parents, husband and wife, and people in general.<br />
<br />
So many years ago, he and I shared a conversation that was one of the most meaningful in our lives. We were in Dallas with friends, and we were celebrating a fun evening at a quaint little pub. Ryan and I took a break outside and sat on the empty patio, enjoying the cool evening. He looked at me and smiled and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and wanted to have a big family with me. We talked for so long about what an amazing life we had ahead of us, sharing our hearts and love with our children. We laughed and cried, excited about our future.<br />
<br />
When I found out I was pregnant with Dylan, we talked about that night, and how it was coming true. Again, two years later, we remember that excitement we felt and are yet again in awe of the beautiful changes in our lives. We thank God every day for blessing us.<br />
<br />
The journey of little baby bumblebee started over a year ago. In August 2011 I suffered an <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/08/normal-0-false-false-false-en-us-x-none.html">ectopic pregnancy</a>. While my body recovered and our hearts healed, we thanked God for the blessing of our amazing little boy. He is our everything, and we love him to the moon and back. In a tearful conversation together, Ryan and I agreed that if another child was not in our future, we would still feel abundantly blessed and our hearts would be full.<br />
<br />
Although there were many odds against us, I had healed well, and we knew we were ready for another child in our lives. With giddy excitement we decided to start trying in February. Valentine's Day, our birthdays, Easter, Dylan's wonderful second birthday - as holidays passed, the negative tests stacked up. There were so many times where I just KNEW I was pregnant...only I wasn't. While I know nothing of the powerful ache that years of unsuccessful pregnancies can bring, I was beginning to feel the slight pang of worry and disappointment. Dylan kept our days full and busy, and we continued making wonderful memories together. Ryan kept me smiling and positive, and assured me that it would happen in time. Meanwhile, we single handedly kept First Response in business.<br />

In June we decided to go on our first summer vacation together as a family. We would spend a week in the New Mexico mountains at Ryan's parent's cabin. Then we would leave Dylan with them and spend a week in California visiting my friends, Cara & Sarah.<br />
After a surprisingly smooth 12 hour drive to the beautiful mountainside, we unloaded for our week in nature. Dylan was elated to be free and to play with Grandma and Baba. He jumped into the soft dirt, dump trucks and shovels in hand, and pretty much stayed there for the next two weeks.<br />

<br />
The second morning came early as Dylan woke us before sunrise, yelling "Mama! Dada!!" and crawled into our bed for snuggles. After the whole house woke and ate a delicious breakfast, everyone migrated outside to play. As I sat on the porch swing enjoying the cool breeze, it happened. IT HAPPENED! That moment where I realized that everything had changed - that my body was quietly letting me in on the big secret. I felt the marvelous butterfly flutters in my tummy that I recognized so dreamily from the day I found out I was pregnant with Dylan. I quietly excused myself and darted inside to grab my last pregnancy test. I took the test and closed my eyes. When I opened, it told me exactly what I had hoped that it would. I was pregnant! I shakily stared at the double lines, taking it all in. I slid the test into my pocket and went back out to my family.<br />
<br />
It was such a beautiful morning, and I wanted to get re-acquainted with the land. Mostly I was desperate to whisk Ryan and Dylan away to share the wonderful news. I snuggled D into the Ergo on my back and the three of us hiked down to the mountain stream. Bob and Sherry's neighbor "The Dentist" owns a darling covered bridge over the stream. While Ryan looked out an open window on the right, I placed the positive pregnancy test in the window on the left. I said "Oh wow honey! Look at that!" and he came to my side to see what it was. He looked out at the water, then down to the window sill; swooping up the test with a shocked look on his face. "You are pregnant?? Are you serious?! Toni!" I gave him a goofy grin with happy tears in my eyes and nodded. He wrapped his arms around Dylan and I and we all embraced. It was a perfect moment in a very beautiful place.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The two greatest loves of my life there by my side to celebrate the third.</div>

While I never actually said goodbye, I took a summer break from blogging. I ever so willingly let the summer fun get the best of me. This isn't the first time I have come back from a hiatus completely lost as to where I should start again. As each wonderful and fun day passes and we add another memorable trip or event to our summer, I yearn to hop on here and write stories of our adventures. While there is no way I could ever catch up to an entire summer full of stories, I do want to recall a few memories so we can look back and remember all the wonderful times spent in Summer 2012.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I will share our summer's most exciting news...</div>

April 7th marked the one year anniversary of my Dad's passing. I
promised myself that I would make sure each year to spend this day honoring the wonderful Dad that he was, rather than mourn the sadness
I feel from not having him in my life. After he died, I decided to
spread his ashes in a beautiful spot that I knew he would have loved. My
family joined and made a it a peaceful and loving day. </div>

It feels just like the store bought kind, and we had all the ingredients on hand. It is smooth and stretchy, and perfect for keeping little hands busy. It is a great go to gift for toddler friends too!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>1 cup flour</li>
<li>1 Tbsp. vegetable oil</li>
<li>1 cup water</li>
<li>2 tsp. cream of tartar</li>
<li>1/2 cup salt</li>
<li>food coloring</li>
<li>wax paper </li>
</ul><div style="text-align: center;">Lay out a piece of wax paper to the side, so you have a spot to put your playdough when it is done cooking.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Mix everything but the food coloring, and stir until smooth.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8VL3cEuen2hx2zqn-Hu0ZjBbrk0_IdGqjftDAjnJoJ-4BVLdyeQH77BLRrQTblffVr0jxo3NUiwfa5w933SEhKPID38bMc0guYKuNjc8CQYracD40JzPOBoDxx9I8bje-FR2pJpcbsw8r/s1600/mix.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8VL3cEuen2hx2zqn-Hu0ZjBbrk0_IdGqjftDAjnJoJ-4BVLdyeQH77BLRrQTblffVr0jxo3NUiwfa5w933SEhKPID38bMc0guYKuNjc8CQYracD40JzPOBoDxx9I8bje-FR2pJpcbsw8r/s640/mix.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Redbud Valley has been on our minds lately. As the purple trees bloom in our neighborhood, the Nature Preserve has been beckoning for us to come visit. We were a week behind to see the trees bloom in their full splendor, but it was beautiful all the same. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Dylan has changed so much since the <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/03/friday-favorites-spring.html">first time we brought him here</a>. The independent, brave little boy was determined to climb every step himself! We took the harder trail on a whim, and he did great. There was so much to stop and see!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uS-oEIjzj2I/T3nx7IZZ9II/AAAAAAAAEkk/cFXjJtP_kf8/s1600/RV1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uS-oEIjzj2I/T3nx7IZZ9II/AAAAAAAAEkk/cFXjJtP_kf8/s640/RV1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We found a neat cave, and he crawled in my lap to take a picture. Those cheesy smiles that make Ryan and I giggle always show when a camera comes out. This was the last time I ever saw those sunglasses...I knew I would leave them there the moment I took them off!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">D told me to leave the cave so he could sit on the boulder by himself. He clapped for himself - so proud to do it alone!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oTfTytTS7Gs/T3nyQmmsWbI/AAAAAAAAEkw/Z5FH1fDqNdg/s1600/RV2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oTfTytTS7Gs/T3nyQmmsWbI/AAAAAAAAEkw/Z5FH1fDqNdg/s640/RV2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Even through the thick tree cover we spotted the source of his most favorite noise: airplanes! He made sure we all were looking as they flew overhead.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro542tIWlP4/T3nwe5tivhI/AAAAAAAAEkU/_6bH65OGEvM/s1600/IMG_8087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro542tIWlP4/T3nwe5tivhI/AAAAAAAAEkU/_6bH65OGEvM/s640/IMG_8087.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">About 30 minutes into our hike, Dylan stopped walking and started pointing at his legs. Up to my shoulders he went. His yawn proved that we had successfully worn him out! He loved swatting every leaf that he could reach. The once wobbly baby on my shoulders has just recently learned to hold my hands and squeeze his little legs. Such a small achievement, but it is those tiny things that remind me how fast he his growing up.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7tK6UsiB53o/T3ny1XADdcI/AAAAAAAAElA/PLOOXVUGcVM/s1600/RV4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7tK6UsiB53o/T3ny1XADdcI/AAAAAAAAElA/PLOOXVUGcVM/s640/RV4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">My beautiful Mother turned 50 on Monday! Ryan, Dylan, & I gathered our family together for a sweet surprise party. We shared cake, blew bubbles, folded Origami, popped firecrackers, played with the babies, and celebrated all things Theresa. It was an exciting afternoon, and so great to get the family together on such a pretty Spring day. Love you Mom!</div><br />

Ryan, Dylan and I have had such a fun and crazy month! It seems like every week has been jam packed with road-trips and new events. We celebrated our birthdays at the beginning of the month; Ryan's on the 4th and mine on the 7th. A year ago in March 2011, Ryan sent me an email outlining a day trip he wanted to take. At the time, he had just gotten a new camera and wanted to go somewhere scenic to get a few good shots. It sounded like so much fun! Time passed, and continued passing...before we knew it the idea had been put aside and forgotten about. <br />
<br />
Fast forward to February. I was brainstorming a fun plan for Ryan's 30th birthday, and a day-date sounded right up his alley. I asked him what his ideal birthday would consist of, and he answered "to spend it with you & Dylan!" So sweet. Well, I half listened to his request. I pulled up his old email and got to planning his big birthday outing! I confided my plans to Ryan's parents, and they agreed to pick Dylan up bright and early Saturday morning. I used my free time during Dylan's naps to create an itinerary book. I was so excited! It was hard not to spill the beans!<br />
<br />
Saturday morning rolled around, and Dylan woke us up with his usual "DaDa!?" Ryan brought him to our bed like we do every morning, only this time he came back to a book on his pillow. I snuggled with Dylan has Ryan read through the pages of maps, pictures, menu and directions. He was so excited that I remembered, and that we were actually going to go. "When are we going to do this?" he asked me. I told him his parents would be at our house in an hour! It was time to go before we knew it. We kissed critter goodbye for the day and he waved eagerly, excited to go play.<br />
<br />
We hit the road and headed for the hills...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">The 30th Birthday Boy and I made the most of our three hour drive to the Wichita Mountains. I printed off a wonderful list of <a href="http://zachterry.wordpress.com/2009/10/07/50-questions-to-ask-your-spouse-on-a-date-night/">50 questions to ask your mate</a>. I got the idea from one of my favorite blogs; <a href="http://wearethatfamily.com/category/loveletters/">We are THAT family</a>. She recently prompted me to write a <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2012/02/to-my-husband.html">love letter</a> to my husband, so I was elated to find a fun relationship builder that could help us pass the time. It was such a neat way to bond and learn more about each other as people, spouses, and parents. I wrote down all of our answers so we could look back and enjoy it again later.</div><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pUDH9GSCEcA/T14wR2xziGI/AAAAAAAAEY8/u5YBvzVcoks/s1600/IMG_2865.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pUDH9GSCEcA/T14wR2xziGI/AAAAAAAAEY8/u5YBvzVcoks/s640/IMG_2865.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
In no time were arriving at our first destination in Meers, Oklahoma. We braved the giant line at the <a href="http://www.meersstore.com/">Meers Store & Restaurant</a> to fill our tummies with the word-famous Longhorn Burger, and it was well worth the wait. We washed down the most delicious onion rings I've ever had with a cold <a href="http://www.chocbeer.com/">Choc beer</a> from a local brewery in Krebs. Once our bellies were full we headed out to see the sights.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Before we knew it, the flat Oklahoma plains sprouted into beautiful mountains! Small, but exciting to see something new in our pretty state. We drove through part of the Wildlife Refuge to the windy road that led us to the top of Mount Scott. We stopped half way up to get a breath of fresh air, snap a few pictures, and marvel at the view.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2PjsXT6UgfU/T14wdVI-nrI/AAAAAAAAEZE/TwRFEhufN7c/s1600/IMG_2885.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2PjsXT6UgfU/T14wdVI-nrI/AAAAAAAAEZE/TwRFEhufN7c/s640/IMG_2885.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ppiWTyzlEDo/T14xDPhUuFI/AAAAAAAAEZc/N18m0qU_1JY/s1600/IMG_2900.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ppiWTyzlEDo/T14xDPhUuFI/AAAAAAAAEZc/N18m0qU_1JY/s640/IMG_2900.JPG" width="640" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzNCb89vS6M/T14wskIriqI/AAAAAAAAEZM/YW-kme8LDgM/s1600/IMG_2887.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzNCb89vS6M/T14wskIriqI/AAAAAAAAEZM/YW-kme8LDgM/s640/IMG_2887.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">The view at the top was breathtaking. I am a self proclaimed nature lover and it doesn't take much to knock my socks off when it comes to marveling at the sights around me. I could have stayed up there all day! The smooth boulders that dotted the mountaintop were perfect for climbing. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">Every now and then between the giant piles of rock would be a patch of grass as soft and thick as a bed. I couldn't resist cozying on down. Ryan joined me and we took a few fun pictures. So began the first shot of our traveling feet series.</div><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">The last leg of our trip was to the Holy City. It is a beautiful stone city created to replicate Israel during the Biblical times. <br />
I am crazy about you. You are the very best part of my day! Dylan squeals with joy, Chloe runs circles, and my heart leaps with happiness to have our family together. You are my strength and my rock. Nothing can scare me with you by my side to talk me through my worries and fears, and I feel so safe even in times of adversity. Even on my crankiest, frowniest (new word) of days, I am soothed by the simplest touch of your hand in mine. You are the father of my dreams; the kind that every mother prays for in her child's life. I love to step back and watch you with Dylan - no matter if you are carefully learning to discipline him through his tough times, teaching him new and wonderful skills, or my favorite, being insanely silly with him. It is so amazing how helpful and involved you are, and I couldn't thank you enough. The look in Dylan's eyes when he is with you reminds me how heroic you are to him, and there is no one better for the job. Thank you for the hardest of jobs that you do for me. I appreciate so much that you wake up each day with a smile on your face and go to work each day. Thank you for the little things that you so graciously do. Painting, fixing, cleaning, pulling Dylan's wagon on our evening walks, throwing Chloe's toy 12 billion times, sharing the cooking with me (let's face it, you are so much better than I am!), letting me take quiet showers, warming up my freezing feet, getting the mail every day, managing our bills. I notice it all, and I appreciate you so much. I cherish our time as a family of three, and I also love our weekly dates so much. It is so much fun sneaking a moment with you and feeling seventeen again.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Thank you for being such an amazing Daddy, a wonderful husband, and for being insanely smart, crazy sweet, and wildly hilarious YOU.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> Love, Mrs. Smith</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Thank you Kristen @ <a href="http://wearethatfamily.com/">We are THAT Family</a> for reminding me to take a moment to tell my Husband how much I love him.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

My intentions were to pass them out at school for Valentine's Day treats, but I kept running into guests and couldn't let them leave without a plate full. Between sharing and Hubs and I sneaking treats, they were gone in a flash. They will definitely be a staple treat to add to my favorite sweets to make.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">You weigh 31 pounds and fit into 18-24 and some 2t clothes.</div><div style="text-align: center;">You wear a size 7.5 shoe.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You love to run and dance, but spinning is your favorite silly move. We are teaching you how to jump! After we change your diaper on your changing table we let you jump off into our arms - right now it is just a free fall, but you love it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bfi3kwDXi50/TznVQEbGsII/AAAAAAAAEXQ/QYrnIoMvCJo/s1600/IMG_6878.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bfi3kwDXi50/TznVQEbGsII/AAAAAAAAEXQ/QYrnIoMvCJo/s640/IMG_6878.JPG" width="640" /></a>You started gasping two weeks ago. It is hilarious! Any little noise that surprises you, or action that shocks you warrants a big *GASP!*</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">You are still obsessed with airplanes - we have to stop and listen or run outside to see it whenever they fly over us. You think every loud vehicle is an airplane & start signing "airplane! airplane!" when we hear rumbling.<br />
<br />
You have a special place in your heart for animals just like I do. You get so giddy when you see animals outside, and you just love to look at pictures of them in books as often as you can.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<a name='more'></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">The best thing ever has been happening for over a month...you are SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Wahooooooo! It took one very long night of Daddy & I talking to you and holding your hand as you cried in your crib, but it worked. I put you in my lap and explained that you would be safe & that we would be here the moment you needed us. I put you back down and you pulled up your blanket and waved! I was so proud of you. Since that night you went from waking every few hours to sleeping 10 without a peep.<br />
Putting you down awake & leaving your door open has been key.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cV4ufeF3BjM/TznSXPTEoRI/AAAAAAAAEV8/qzzTfpO9u3M/s1600/IMG_2545.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cV4ufeF3BjM/TznSXPTEoRI/AAAAAAAAEV8/qzzTfpO9u3M/s640/IMG_2545.JPG" width="480" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">You hate wet food. Spaghetti, bananas, oranges, eggs - you refuse almost everything that isn't crunchy or dry. You live on saltines, toast, apples, and dried banana chips, apricots, & cran&blue berries. One wet food you'll let slide...ice cream.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9rBp9m_6mLo/TznVc3hBdKI/AAAAAAAAEXY/ws06IlMp6Lo/s1600/IMG_2271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9rBp9m_6mLo/TznVc3hBdKI/AAAAAAAAEXY/ws06IlMp6Lo/s640/IMG_2271.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You love to be in the kitchen! We call you our little sous chef. I've started putting you in your highchair and letting you pour and mix all the ingredients. You drag me to the pantry every morning so you can make my coffee. Such a helpful little guy :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
I enjoy shopping with you every week. It seems you'll never get sick of pulling off the produce bags for me. Sometimes I will put all the fruits and veggies into your lap & hold the bags open. You love dropping them in one at a time! When we get to the store I ask you if you want to ride in the <a href="http://store.ergobaby.com/">Ergo</a> or the cart. Both are fun, but I love carrying you on my back!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vs7Yqg-WZp0/Tz_w1T59XyI/AAAAAAAAEXk/Sbff5H21dLs/s1600/405904_569799941457_226600697_1283036_1371508516_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vs7Yqg-WZp0/Tz_w1T59XyI/AAAAAAAAEXk/Sbff5H21dLs/s640/405904_569799941457_226600697_1283036_1371508516_n.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div></div><div style="text-align: center;">When we can't keep a constant eye on you we have had to start hiding your chairs that Grandpa made you. I was finding you standing as high as they could take you in funny places: Washing dishes, soaking a roll of toilet paper in the sink, pulling out all the contents of our dressers...</div><div style="text-align: center;">We are trying to teach you that they are for sitting only!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4rObSLyDVTU/TznSlOtWruI/AAAAAAAAEWE/V8thx_i17Qc/s1600/IMG_2546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4rObSLyDVTU/TznSlOtWruI/AAAAAAAAEWE/V8thx_i17Qc/s640/IMG_2546.JPG" width="640" /></a></div></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You nod your head vigorously when we ask if you want to go to church on Sunday morning. It is so fun to get you dressed up. Daddy & I take you in your room and pick out an outfit & dress you, then surprise the other with what you are wearing. You have been such a good boy during the services! You stay in our aisle the whole time, and you like to say hi to the people sitting in front of us. Your favorite part is when we all ring our bells. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You are finding new ways to torture the dog in the most fun ways possible. She loves you! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ahf33IBc0d0/TznUDPltvsI/AAAAAAAAEW0/VXv6rezlk5I/s1600/IMG_7403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ahf33IBc0d0/TznUDPltvsI/AAAAAAAAEW0/VXv6rezlk5I/s640/IMG_7403.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
You love to sign! You chatter like nobody's business, but you are not talking yet. The Doctor said you are incredibly smart & understand language perfectly. He urged us to keep signing to help you learn new word association & communicate without frustration. It has been so much fun & incredibly helpful. In the past two months your favorite signs are: Squirrel, bird, cookie, ice cream, cracker, & apple. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Daddy is your very best friend. He can make you laugh the hardest, run the fastest, & squeal the silliest. The moment he gets home from work you beg him to fly his remote controlled helicopter. Any time we see a truck you pat on him because you know he drives one. Daddy's scratchy face is your favorite page in Pat the Bunny; you'll run to him and rub on his cheeks. Nothing warms my heart more than how much you love each other!<br />
<br />

You gained several pounds (my arms could tell this!) & you are getting so tall! Don't grow too quick little one.<br />
<br />
<i>Momma loves you. </i><br />

Dylan would look at the man in the fuzzy red & white suit, look at us, then point to the back of the line like "lets get out of here!"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">He started crying in mid air, and I warned Santa that Dylan was most definitely going to bail. I hopped out of the way for the snap then saved him. The jolly man laughed a little and handed Dylan a piece of candy. Everything was again right in the world. His picture does not disappoint me at all - its pretty classic. One day I hope for a grin though!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We let him run free through the store for about an hour, and he had the best time ever! A happy squeal would come out every now and then - he loved the freedom!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">He sat on every fourwheeler and boat in the place, and Daddy showed him all the neat things we could find. </div><div style="text-align: center;">You are 18 months old little guy!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">A year and a half - WOW! We celebrated with your first ice cream cone in the tub. You thought it was so cool to have your own cone.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oeuhWPmPQro/Tui-ZGJL4NI/AAAAAAAAER8/UOYaBbh7Dzo/s1600/380001_558707400997_226600697_1243175_1970866872_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oeuhWPmPQro/Tui-ZGJL4NI/AAAAAAAAER8/UOYaBbh7Dzo/s640/380001_558707400997_226600697_1243175_1970866872_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You are such a big boy! You weigh 25 pounds and fit into 18-24 and some 2t clothes.</div><div style="text-align: center;">You wear a size 7 shoe.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You have 16 teeth!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You are non stop on the go, and have a ton of personality.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N7PEaf1wznE/Tui-WxztvPI/AAAAAAAAERs/7JmlZG-o810/s1600/329630_558976651417_226600697_1243970_234568489_o%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N7PEaf1wznE/Tui-WxztvPI/AAAAAAAAERs/7JmlZG-o810/s640/329630_558976651417_226600697_1243970_234568489_o%25281%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Dancing and music clearly go hand in hand! You have a few signature moves, and I die laughing every time. The three of us love our mini dance parties, and you even break it down when Daddy & I sing.Your favorite song right now is "If You're Happy & You Know It."</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The squeals you let out when Daddy gets home are priceless. You are so excited to see him and play. He carries you around all night long, and you love when he takes you in the kitchen to watch me cook dinner. You two are darling together.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fi0E8d5gE6M/TuhMoxrCpDI/AAAAAAAAERY/IMllbXYCbww/s1600/IMG_2275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fi0E8d5gE6M/TuhMoxrCpDI/AAAAAAAAERY/IMllbXYCbww/s640/IMG_2275.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Routine is a must with you. If I try and stray from our daily routines you get quite upset! In the morning we go to the kitchen together and you always open the drawer and get on your tip toes to reach for a spoon - no matter what we are eating. We share a bowl of cereal together.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The toilet amazes you, and you love to flush it often. You will grab a handful of tp, lift the lid, throw it in and shut the lid, flush, then lift the lid real quickly to watch it swirl down. We wave goodbye to the toilet paper.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You are still a crazy picky eater.</div><div style="text-align: center;">You live on: Grilled cheese, grapes, apples, rice cakes, dried fruit, & crackers</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--AAjUHDoqvQ/Tui70LK_kLI/AAAAAAAAERg/-1K5I_Ekk0Q/s1600/IMG_2262.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--AAjUHDoqvQ/Tui70LK_kLI/AAAAAAAAERg/-1K5I_Ekk0Q/s640/IMG_2262.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You have a kitchen utensil obsession. Our utensil drawer is now easily in your long reach, and throughout the day you get spoons, spatulas, and tongs out. They are all over our house, and a staple toy in the bath tub.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Chloe is your bestie. You two chase each other all over the house - her barks and your laughter are deafening and hilarious!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-puPXZ30hx5s/Tui-YSpghGI/AAAAAAAAER0/E8kKp9SzQNQ/s1600/333702_558390910247_226600697_1241788_82196345_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-puPXZ30hx5s/Tui-YSpghGI/AAAAAAAAER0/E8kKp9SzQNQ/s640/333702_558390910247_226600697_1241788_82196345_o.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l6uUFT6xcrA/TuhL0kPIkYI/AAAAAAAAERQ/5yASBMCgOIw/s1600/IMG_2027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l6uUFT6xcrA/TuhL0kPIkYI/AAAAAAAAERQ/5yASBMCgOIw/s640/IMG_2027.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I sit in the backseat with you. We don't think its weird, and we have so much fun! On night car rides you have started reaching for me and trying to tell me something. I finally figured out you want to hold my hand. We hold hands now on every night time car ride - yeah, I love it a LOT.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You pretty much wave goodbye to anything that is going away. I think it is so cute! Wave bye bye to Daddy in the morning and at bed time, bye bye to trash before you put it in the can, bye bye to the last bite of cereal before you eat it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">We are still working on new textures and getting dirty! You have come leaps and bounds from where you were, but still prefer your hands to be clean. You like to have your own napkin when you eat, and wipe your hands often.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vpQnptyNH8M/TujCTw5_1AI/AAAAAAAAESE/MUEBR5lOGXY/s1600/IMG_6614.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vpQnptyNH8M/TujCTw5_1AI/AAAAAAAAESE/MUEBR5lOGXY/s640/IMG_6614.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">You are so good at cleaning up after yourself. Any tiny bit of trash that you see, you run it to the kitchen trash can and throw it away - always clapping for yourself after you do your good deed. If anything spills on the floor, you go get the hand towel hanging from the oven and put it over the mess.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You make gorilla noises when I say the word umbrella. They do sound a little alike!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Any time I kiss you, you wipe it off and scrunch your nose at me. BUT every now and then you will run over to me and plant one on my lips when I least expect it. My favorite is when we are snuggling in the morning and my eyes are shut, and you give me a big smooch to wake me up. Kisses are extra special now that they are so rare.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">We love you critter! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cZuWgTIkwd0/TujGP3kHTqI/AAAAAAAAESQ/EWAPcLKxnls/s1600/334464_553629826497_226600697_1224137_1443367020_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cZuWgTIkwd0/TujGP3kHTqI/AAAAAAAAESQ/EWAPcLKxnls/s640/334464_553629826497_226600697_1224137_1443367020_o.jpg" width="480" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Happy 18 months Dylan!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

My family has been sick for nearly a month! I have somehow managed to stay well and keep my sanity. Poor D & Ryan are fed up with feeling crummy, but I am so happy to say they are finally getting well!!<br />
<br />
While I was thinking my job was full time before, I was reminded of the 24/7 roll a Mommy plays when her baby is sick. Baby boy has been fighting fever and a terrible cough at night, so I have opted to sleep with him and keep him close. My sweet husband has been so patient and understanding.<br />
<br />
Looking forward to getting into the swing of this wonderful holiday season. Tonight I am thankful for the prayers!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Our sweet little friend, Jackson Felix, turned one on November 10th! His Momma & Dad threw the most darling party to celebrate. The house was brimming with family and friends of all sizes there to have fun with Jackson on his big day.<br />
It seems like just a blink ago we were pining over you in your tiny little swaddle at the hospital. My how quickly you have grown! <br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M6P3C5Def-Q/TsrbnGdgcYI/AAAAAAAAEQo/B6a6rPW7a-U/s1600/307220_10100411643410197_9614397_50367693_592886522_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M6P3C5Def-Q/TsrbnGdgcYI/AAAAAAAAEQo/B6a6rPW7a-U/s640/307220_10100411643410197_9614397_50367693_592886522_n.jpg" width="426" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Goodnight Moon was the theme of his party, and a touch of the childhood favorite book was everywhere you looked. The hard work was evident in the sweet details. The main food table was dressed up to look like a bed, complete with sheets, blankets, and a pillow. Baby bunny was all tucked in - so cute! Grandma's balls of yarn and knitting needles were even there!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Chris and April were so proud of their sweet little bunny on his birthday. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D1u4cmqzgP0/TsrZYVl6UVI/AAAAAAAAEPk/NywupVaOinY/s1600/jackson+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="330" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D1u4cmqzgP0/TsrZYVl6UVI/AAAAAAAAEPk/NywupVaOinY/s640/jackson+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sexs-g5pPWU/TsrfPm1mGBI/AAAAAAAAERA/q8_Al6jny84/s1600/376133_10100411661708527_9614397_50367732_835296029_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sexs-g5pPWU/TsrfPm1mGBI/AAAAAAAAERA/q8_Al6jny84/s640/376133_10100411661708527_9614397_50367732_835296029_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Jackson and Dylan had a ball together. In a moment of adorableness they were caught teaching each other how to smoosh their little faces on the front door. They learned from one another and had so much fun doing it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">There was a BIG red balloon right out front that kept them gazing out the window together. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Auntie April was kind enough to send the giant balloon home for Dylan to play with!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JeWejEbeUpg/TsraKZbdsMI/AAAAAAAAEP8/TVXoUKaHuQs/s1600/Jackson+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JeWejEbeUpg/TsraKZbdsMI/AAAAAAAAEP8/TVXoUKaHuQs/s640/Jackson+5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Every corner was swathed with a dash of color, complete with handmade buntings. The guest/memory book table was set up as baby bunny's nightstand. Timing was perfect for thrift store greatness, as April asked if I saw anything at Goodwill that she could paint to look like the blue lamp with yellow lamp shade. Hello blue vase and yellow checkered shade! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kr4JNgQIh58/Tsraer9hZnI/AAAAAAAAEQM/rB1PafaqBS8/s1600/Jackson+6+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kr4JNgQIh58/Tsraer9hZnI/AAAAAAAAEQM/rB1PafaqBS8/s640/Jackson+6+%25282%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">There were loads of cuties at the party, and a group shot was a must. Pictures like these always make me laugh - they are classic! ONE kid actually looked at the camera. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZEI-siP0yyM/TsrbofVE4II/AAAAAAAAEQw/y8r_H-V0QqI/s1600/313122_10100412385193657_9614397_50370881_363775841_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="174" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZEI-siP0yyM/TsrbofVE4II/AAAAAAAAEQw/y8r_H-V0QqI/s640/313122_10100412385193657_9614397_50370881_363775841_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Jackson was on cloud nine as he ripped apart his presents with Mom.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">She even gave him a throne on wheels to sit on while he opened!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nmst2a2oYlk/TscxzW8ARyI/AAAAAAAAEOU/_hw_zOhJMs0/s1600/IMG_2150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nmst2a2oYlk/TscxzW8ARyI/AAAAAAAAEOU/_hw_zOhJMs0/s640/IMG_2150.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ChkdOvzZ2io/TscyFDOcQDI/AAAAAAAAEOc/iFe_CiZZIkw/s1600/IMG_2153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ChkdOvzZ2io/TscyFDOcQDI/AAAAAAAAEOc/iFe_CiZZIkw/s640/IMG_2153.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Our gift, the corn popper, created mass havoc. That is success in my book! Jackson ripped off the red wrapping paper, and a crowd of little people arrived to join in on the fun. They were all none to pleased to share that fun with each other. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Poor Jackson got his brand new toy taken away so quickly! Another classic :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I had to share it...it made me belly laugh and Ryan laughed until he snorted.<br />
When it fits, it fits! This pretty much sums up my week. May it be tummy aches, nightmares, teething or just wanting to cuddle, all I know is that I have slept more hours with Dylan this week than with Ryan. I am in the cycle of being too tired to get up and nurse him back to sleep, so Ryan brings him to our bed, I groggily nurse Dylan what feels like all night long, and then we do it all over again the next night. My through the night sleeper has regressed! Oh me oh my. Think of me and send your good juju's my way. Thank you!!<br />

While the summer months felt like they were never ending, it seems like I blinked and the days of splash pads, slushies, and endless hours of sunshine went by in a hurry. Time passes by while you are busy living the good life, but sometimes I need to remind myself to slow down and pay attention to the little moments instead of worrying about the future. It is easy to ask prayers of need every night, but as I slow myself down I want to focus on what I am most thankful for...both grand and simple.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MmDZ-z3gJpE/TrDFnrmBTmI/AAAAAAAAEDU/k0OPZyPRCNk/s1600/417805019_8N9VYJyp_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MmDZ-z3gJpE/TrDFnrmBTmI/AAAAAAAAEDU/k0OPZyPRCNk/s640/417805019_8N9VYJyp_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I am <a href="http://www.iamthankful.com/">thankful</a> for:</div>My husband and his ridiculously corny humor. He is always there to give me a belly laugh when I need it most.<br />
<br />
The layer of red and orange crunchy leaves we tromp through on our morning walks.<br />
<br />
Sweet drool filled kisses from Dylan when I least expect it.<br />
<br />
Parents, both blood, married and figurative. The generation that has been through so much and is there to see my family through anything.<br />
<br />
Caterpillars and other crawly creatures that Dylan finds while exploring. They give us the opportunity to talk about the beauty of nature.<br />
<br />
Our cozy home and the memories we have made in it over the past six years.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/10/opat-learning-experience.html">Parents as Teachers</a> and the most awesome opportunity we have been introduced to.<br />
<br />
Grandparents, mine and Dylan's. There is a bond between grand parents & children that is so distinct and unique. The sweet never failing love.<br />
<br />
A warm meal in our bellies every night.<br />
<br />
Our faith and the prayers that keep us close to God as we figure out our future. <br />
<br />
The struggles of early breastfeeding that have turned into an amazing, unexplainable bond between my sweet toddler and I. The support from other breastfeeding mothers has kept us going strong.<br />
<br />
The warmth of the sunshine on our faces on chilly fall days.<br />
<br />
For our health and my smooth <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/08/normal-0-false-false-false-en-us-x-none.html">recovery</a>. <br />
<br />
Simple acts of kindness from strangers - they have no idea how much their moments of time help me.<br />
<br />
Our safe neighborhood, sweet neighbors and a quiet, friendly place to take our daily walks.<br />
<br />
The babies of our families that keep our get together fun and young, and my cousin's little one on the way.<br />
<br />
My family that lifts me up when I am having hard times, shares my excitement when new things happen, and keeps me going strong.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Thank you Heather for the inspiration!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://wearetheholdens.blogspot.com/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z404/hkholden/wearetheholdens200button.jpg" /></a></div><br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Halloween was so much fun!</div><div style="text-align: center;">We were a family of skeletons this year. The original plan was that you were going to be a hamburger, Chloe a hot dog, and Daddy and I were going to be ketchup and mustard. <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/10/wordless-wednesday-costume-fail.html">You were not having it.</a> So we switched things up a bit, and this outfit made you much happier. I whipped up mine and Daddy's outfits the night before the big Halloween parade so we could match you!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Friday we took you to your beloved pumpkin patch one last time before the season ended. You went to a total of five pumpkin patches this year - we just couldn't get enough! Grandma took you almost every Wednesday she had with you, and we took you to say goodbye until next year. It was so much fun letting you run free through the field of pumpkins, watching you play with the little houses they had set up. Grandpa and Grandma came over that night and brought you the neatest slide! You played until your heart's content.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Saturday was a full day! We dressed up and went to the annual Boo Ha Ha parade. There was so much to see and take in. Kids and parents were dressed to the nine in their fun costumes, lined up along the street to watch the fun and gather candy. A sweet little boy kept bringing you candy, and I gave his Momma a smile of thanks - what good manners. You gobbled up the sweet tarts in a hurry, this was a rare treat! Daddy was by your side to keep you calm through the loud scary horns and honking. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-id9LMbjGTe8/Tq7VC12jf5I/AAAAAAAAECE/65amy3A_uoA/s1600/halloween+collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-id9LMbjGTe8/Tq7VC12jf5I/AAAAAAAAECE/65amy3A_uoA/s640/halloween+collage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After the parade was over we took you to GreeGree's house and met Auntie Meggan over there! They thought you were a darling little bag of bones, and really liked us all dressed up. We talked all about the <a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2011/10/opat-learning-experience.html">Parents as Teachers</a> program and what a smart little kid you are. You went from room to room, showing Daddy how we play over there every Thursday. Auntie Meggan was so happy to see you! Her little one had hiccups while we were together. It'll be so fun to meet her little nugget in January!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hT2QTQU52-g/Tq98C0TKDvI/AAAAAAAAEDE/msSKQPZn-XQ/s1600/halloween+collage+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hT2QTQU52-g/Tq98C0TKDvI/AAAAAAAAEDE/msSKQPZn-XQ/s640/halloween+collage+6.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W3bMZVvdCZg/Tq9uy9KsUdI/AAAAAAAAEC8/rfl4ghRLmyw/s1600/IPHONE_287p.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W3bMZVvdCZg/Tq9uy9KsUdI/AAAAAAAAEC8/rfl4ghRLmyw/s640/IPHONE_287p.jpg" width="424" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Today was your second Halloween! You and I put on our costumes and went to surprise Daddy and Grandpa at work. They were so happy to see us! You loved checking out their offices. We stole Daddy and went to eat dinner together at Chick-Fil-A. You wanted nothing to do with the food as usual, but you tried apple juice for the very first time and loved it! After we ate, you had a blast playing on all of the toys.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yhBylupS7Sw/Tq9tK_y-x1I/AAAAAAAAECg/q0qu88bfh48/s1600/Halloween+Collage+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yhBylupS7Sw/Tq9tK_y-x1I/AAAAAAAAECg/q0qu88bfh48/s640/Halloween+Collage+4.jpg" width="610" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You took a nice long nap on the car ride home, but I woke you up to play when we got home. There were tears involved, as you were none too pleased about being woken. You cheered up quickly once we started playing in the back yard. Chloe was a good sport about her costume, and you thought it was funny to see her in a shirt. We played with Sugar Booger, the new puppy next door. She has dug two holes under the fence and loves to stick her head through to say hello. I always know when she is over because you squeal with glee when you see her. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QJPl0yawP7A/Tq-BHmqWnUI/AAAAAAAAEDM/Mi6zIcnV2J8/s1600/Picnik+collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QJPl0yawP7A/Tq-BHmqWnUI/AAAAAAAAEDM/Mi6zIcnV2J8/s640/Picnik+collage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Before it got too dark we went on a nice long (not too) spooky wagon ride. It was fun to see the early trick or treaters out dressed to the nines. The neighborhood was all decorated with orange twinkle lights and flickering jack o' lanterns. A car stopped just to tell us how darling our family of skeletons looked. A sweet little lady out with her granddaughter adored you and insisted we trick or treat at her house where her husband was waiting with a big bucket of candy. You hid in the wagon while I got you some treats.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FmO-SYGuZfM/Tq9s2ckcWLI/AAAAAAAAECY/7WeWLZbIYfM/s1600/Halloween+Collage+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FmO-SYGuZfM/Tq9s2ckcWLI/AAAAAAAAECY/7WeWLZbIYfM/s640/Halloween+Collage+3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We headed back to the house and you, Chloe and Daddy ran around the living room blowing bubbles and banging on pots and pans while I passed out candy. It was so much fun waiting for the door bell to ring! The little kids were so adorable in the costumes, and loved it when you and Chloe would run to help me. One little boy asked if you could come trick or treating with them! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It was such a wonderful Halloween! Dressing up was a <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0cqXnsBa_t9KELM-JWXoDZ2l4efSqekr4UnepBPdXBr-Yuyrzxial0fsYFW1hyp6sxcIM-Q0UI4nItTlkP4nYzxYC6Fpn_W-2G9effyoVaWrJbkrxVkGgKtzYkvhyphenhyphenIQjUCXAqquJlUEpm/s1600/IMG_7563.jpg">hoot</a>, and I am already looking forward to next year. I am so happy you had such a fun time!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://smithpeas.blogspot.com/2010/12/firsts.html">You are darling as a button in a costume. Remember last year?? I can't stand the cuteness! </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I might be just a little bit biased :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i>Love you munchkin.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qa4hvKRQvwk/Tq9tn9lR5yI/AAAAAAAAEC0/Dh_DDJkDqnQ/s1600/IMG_6516%255Bp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qa4hvKRQvwk/Tq9tn9lR5yI/AAAAAAAAEC0/Dh_DDJkDqnQ/s640/IMG_6516%255Bp.jpg" width="456" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!</div><img align="right" src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b223/t0ng37/signature.png" style="border: 0pt none;" />smithpeasinapodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13092276009747582116noreply@blogger.com2
